GET TO KNOW RODNEY WRIGHT
I have been a proud resident of Gibson County my entire life and am blessed to call Yorkville home with my wife, Shelley. I am a 1992 graduate of Gibson County High School, and I have dedicated my life to public service and preparing for the responsibility of leading our county’s top law enforcement agency.
I am also a cancer survivor, a journey that forever changed my perspective on life. When you face something like cancer and are blessed enough to survive, you realize how precious life is. You learn to prioritize family and health, and you thank God every day for sparing your life. That resilience and gratitude guide me in both my personal and professional life.
Family has always been at the center of my values. Shelley, a dedicated nurse, and I have raised two sons who share our commitment to service and hard work. Our oldest son, Danny, followed in my footsteps and now serves as a Deputy Sheriff in Obion County. Our youngest son, Brandt, is completing his final year of law school in Arkansas. We are also proud grandparents to two grandsons, who bring immense joy to our family.
My family and I worship at Dorris Chapel Church of Christ, where we stay deeply connected to our faith and our community. My lifelong roots in Gibson County, spanning more than five generations, have instilled in me a passion for serving my neighbors and building a safer, stronger county for generations to come.
